A long, low paulownia bowl filled with preserved moss — a moss table runner rather than a centerpiece. At 40 or 60 inches it runs the length of a dining table, and the shallow profile keeps sightlines clear across dinner.
The Design
Hand-carved paulownia, stained to your choice of finish, filled edge to edge with preserved moss so the surface reads as one continuous run of green. Lightweight enough to lift and reposition with one hand despite the length.
Dimensions
- 40" long × 6" wide × 3" high — six to eight seats
- 60" long × 6" wide × 4" high — eight or more seats, long islands
Materials & Finishes
- Hand-carved paulownia wood bowl
- Real preserved moss
- Seven stains: Unfinished, Black, Dark Brown Walnut, Espresso, Mahogany, Grey, or Antique White
- Two moss options: Dark Green, or Mixed / Variated
Mixed moss reads with more depth and movement; dark green reads quieter and more architectural.
Uses
Dining tables, buffets, console tables, and kitchen islands. Works in rustic, farmhouse, modern, and minimalist rooms — the finish you choose does most of that work.
Care
- No watering, sunlight, or pruning required
- Indoor display only
- Keep out of direct sunlight and away from moisture
- Dust with a soft dry brush, or a hairdryer on a low, cool setting
- Typical display life is 8–10 years indoors with proper care
Is the Moss Real?
Yes. It's real moss, preserved rather than living, so it keeps its natural texture and colour variation. It doesn't grow and doesn't need water or light. Most people assume it's alive until they touch it.
Handmade Variation
Each bowl is hand-carved from solid wood, so dimensions vary slightly and each carries its own grain and small irregularities. Moss colour, density, and arrangement vary too. Yours will not be identical to the photograph.
Natural Scent
Preserved moss carries a mild organic scent for the first days after unpacking. This is normal and fades. It is not a defect, and we don't accept returns on this basis.

If Something Arrives Damaged
Email wendy@rootsofearthco.com within 48 hours with photographs of the piece and the packaging, and keep the box. Shipments are insured and we will make it right.
Returns
Each piece is made to order, so we don't accept returns or exchanges. If anything is wrong with your order, contact us — we would always rather fix it than leave you unhappy.
