Handmade 12" or 15” Round Concrete bowl filled with preserved moss

We cast this bowl ourselves. Solid concrete, poured and cured by hand in our Sonoma County studio, then filled with preserved moss. It is heavier and denser than a hollow-cast vessel, and it feels it.

The Design

Solid concrete — not hollow — which is why it weighs around 15 lb. The surface carries small pits, tonal shifts, and the occasional bloom from curing. Those are inherent to hand-poured concrete and are what stop it looking manufactured.

Filled with preserved moss packed densely across the full width, so the surface reads as one continuous cushion.

Choosing Between Our Two Concrete Bowls

We also offer a concrete moss bowl in 13" and 17.5", in white or grey. That one is hollow-cast, so it is lighter and ships sooner.

This one is solid and cast by hand from scratch. It is substantially heavier, and it takes longer because the concrete has to cure fully before we can fill it.

Care

• No watering, sunlight, or pruning required
• Indoor display only
• Keep out of direct sunlight and away from moisture
• Dust with a hairdryer on a low, cool setting
• Use a felt pad or mat underneath on delicate surfaces — concrete can mark wood

Handmade Variation

Each bowl is cast individually, so colour, surface texture, and small imperfections vary between pieces. Moss arrangement varies too. Yours will not be identical to the photograph.

Natural Scent

Preserved moss carries a mild organic scent for the first days after unpacking. This is normal and fades. It is not a defect, and we don't accept returns on this basis.

• Handcrafted to order in 10–14 business days — the concrete must cure fully before we can fill and ship it

If Something Arrives Damaged

Email wendy@rootsofearthco.com within 48 hours with photographs of the piece and the packaging, and keep the box. Shipments are insured and we will make it right.

Returns

Each piece is made to order, so we don't accept returns or exchanges. If anything is wrong with your order, contact us — we would always rather fix it than leave you unhappy.
