Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Roots of Earth Co. (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit rootsofearthco.com or place an order with us.
The Short Version
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We only share what is necessary with the service providers who help us run the shop — payment processing, shipping, email, and analytics.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time.
What We Collect
When you place an order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment details. Payment card numbers are handled directly by our payment processor — we never see or store them.
When you browse the site: your IP address, browser and device type, time zone, pages viewed, and how you arrived. This is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
When you contact us or subscribe: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us.
Why We Collect It
- To process and fulfil your order, and to arrange delivery
- To send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and respond to enquiries
- To screen orders for fraud
- To send marketing emails, if you have asked to receive them
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
Who We Share It With
We share personal information only with providers who need it to deliver a service to you, and only for that purpose. They are not permitted to use it for anything else.
- Shopify — hosts our store and processes orders and payments. See Shopify's privacy policy.
- Shipping carriers — receive your delivery address to carry the parcel. International shipments also require customs information.
- Email marketing providers — receive your email address if you have subscribed.
- Product review provider — receives your email address to invite a review after purchase.
- Analytics and advertising providers — receive site usage data. See below.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — to comply with a subpoena, warrant, or other lawful request, or to protect our rights.
Analytics & Advertising
We use analytics and advertising tools to understand site traffic and to show relevant advertising, including Google Analytics and pixels from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest.
You can opt out of these:
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, keep your session secure, and measure how the site is used.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can block or delete them in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may stop parts of the site working properly — the cart in particular.
How Long We Keep It
We keep order records for as long as we need them to fulfil the order and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your Rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Provide your information in a portable format
- Stop sending you marketing — you can also unsubscribe from any email
If you are in the EEA or UK: your information is processed on our behalf by providers who may store it in the United States and Canada. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are in California: you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity first.
Children
Our store is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals, so we do not currently alter our practices when we receive one.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
